L'Eclisse

Unexpectedly, I did manage to catch a few glimpses of tonight's total lunar eclipse, and very pretty it was too. The dim red moon rose through broken cloud, visible one minute, gone the next; the handsomest view came as the Earth's shadow just started to slip away, and one brilliant edge blazed out from the engloomed satellite. The whole shape of the event was crystal clear in that moment.

I should have still been bouncing, but left early. Tired and cold; irritated by some of the company. Warrick may be leaving us for a job in California, and the prospects for future coaching are less than stellar. I guess we'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it.

Just now, as if to make up for its earlier shrouding, the full moon is astonishingly bright in a crisp, chill, empty sky. Lonely and beautiful; just like you.
