Holding

I suppose some sort of update is in order, though I have nothing conclusive to impart.

People I spoke to on Sunday must be expecting something cataclysmic, but at the moment we're still in flux. What seemed certain then still seems likely now; it also seems, perhaps, a tiny bit less like an unthinkable catastrophe. It might just be possible to navigate a course through this that doesn't destroy everything we hold dear. I really hope so. Some kind of course must be navigated, one way or another, and it would be terrible -- silly -- to wind up wrecked on the rocks.

So.

We have backed off a little and are prowling around the matter with extreme caution. There is a lot to prowl around -- you accumulate a lot of baggage in ten years -- and neither of us wants to do the wrong thing. We're in a holding pattern of sorts. Pondering.

So.

Please continue to hold. One of our operators will be with you shortly.

I'm not so good with words, especially at times like these. But for what it's worth, I'm thinking of you. Avoid those rocks. I'm sure we'll all continue to hold. xxx

(this is an 0800 number, isn't it?)

Sorry you're having troubles Matt.
I hope everything works out for the best.

No, no, you have to have that message that repeatedly tells us that our call will be answered in x minutes and y seconds.

Though of course you do have better things to think about.

Still holding! And hoping for the best.

I really hope that things work out for you both in a way that makes you both happy. Sorry to hear that you're having a difficult time of it.

I'm thinking of you as well.

Matt
