Reasons...

...to be cheerful:

Famous trampoline coach and party animal Warrick is, it transpires, not leaving us after all, his long-delayed employment in the US having in the meantime been outbid by percipient locals. Hooray for them!

Famous monsters of TV-land the Daleks, or at least one example of same, will be returning to our screens this weekend, which also happens to be a bank holiday and blessed with the release of The Hitchhiker's Guide to boot. Joy.

As noted by famous blogger Stairs (who, though I'm a little reluctant to mention it for fear of implying some weight of expectation that jinxes the whole process, is posting again, to the joy of all), famously-oversized airliner the A380 flew today for the first time, and wasn't it a sight to behold? One day the skies will be filled with such giants, and what a science-fictional day that will be.

The gym last night, where I really enjoyed teaching step and subsequently bouncing, was, for no clear reason, awash with Marching Boys, leading to several conversations like this:

  • So, what's the story, Matt? Are we dancing this year?
  • I have no idea. Ask Kym.
  • I asked Kym. He told me to ask you.
  • Oh.

So, who knows? Kym and I have talked briefly on the phone about it, and are supposed to be having a proper meeting at the weekend. I guess we'll have a better idea then. I will say, though, that I'm feeling better-disposed to the idea of doing it than I have since sometime before last year's outing, so hopefully something fun will happen.

If you feel like volunteering, we can always do with a bit more momentum...

glad to read your mood has improved.

I doubt this is worthy of entry into your list of reasons to be cheerfull; but I have stopped smoking.

Congratulations. I hope it's not making you too cranky :)

Dear Matt.

Hope this finds its way to you and to say that I for one really hope we do dance again this year. Despite everything it puts us through, it is a special contribution in its own right, and Pride would be poorer without it!

I hope we do too, Guy. The wheels are turning, we'll just have to see where they go...
