Fender Dragging

Well, I'm back and yes, thank you, I had a great time. The photos are mostly crap, but no doubt I'll post some anyway. I scribbled a lot of drunken, stream-of-consciousness garbage into a notebook; don't expect much of it to see the light of WT, though, it really is drivel.

For now, all I feel like saying is that the sailing was lots of fun, but fender dragging may be the Best. Thing. Ever.

What's more, Google seems not to have heard of it, so I can leave you guessing while I go and make dinner. Mwahaha!

You were dragged by a horse, cowboy-flick stunt-rider style?

The mind reels.

Anything to do with guitars?

Um, no. I'll explain later. Probably won't be able to do justice to the hysteria of it, though...

If by 'fender' you mean those air cushions that hang off the side of the boat to protect it from hitting the dock, and by 'dragging' you mean that you left them tied to the side of the boat as you sailed, then you should know it's a sure sign of an inexperience sailor here in San Diego. Most of the time the experienced people point at said novice's boats and say "they must be from Arizona."

Doubtless so, Rye, but all that serves to demonstrate is that yachties can be sneery, up-themselves wankers in SD as elsewhere; not exactly breaking news.

I make no secret of my inexperience on the water, but that faux pas doesn't sound like the source of many thrills, and in any case the boats we sailed have no space for such decorative frippery.
