Filler 7.5
Well, that was actually quite fun. One of the tutors turned out to be my current favourite aerobics teacher, a fantastically funky woman called Denise, who can teach pretty much anything to pretty much anyone and look consistently fabulous doing so. She was actually one of those I had in mind as "notable exceptions" in the previous post, who travels the country showing people how it should be done. So that was a good start. And the other tutor, a woman named Alex (these darn unisex names) who I hadn't encountered before, was also very good.My fellow students were not, frankly, the sharpest tools in the box, but all perfectly nice girls (yes folks -- and not for the first time -- I was the only male participant). All, I think, made progress in one way or another (my own was in the getting-things-right-and-then-fucking-them-up-anyway stakes, and also the making-a-fool-of-yourself-in-front-of-a-roomful-of-people stakes, which are always salutary experiences), so the session has to be considered a success. It was only a one-day workshop affair anyway.
Last time I did something like this, I think I actually wound up using some of the choreography I concocted during the session; I don't think that'll be happening this time, as it was frankly pretty shoddy. But still, it was a fun and sweaty day.
Meanwhile, I am informed by email that all manner of bugs and suchlike have arisen during my brief absence. I must away to bed if I'm to have any hope of dealing with these vexations tomorrow.
