Filler 21
So: I didn't catch anyone, but that's only because it was a beginners class and none of them could reach me. Well, perhaps not only, but my catching abilities weren't properly put to the test, so who knows? It was fun trying, at least. I'll be doing that again. So butch :)Tonight (Thursday) I'm teaching again, this time a very basic step class. Basic? All my step classes are complicated. What the fuck am I going teach them? Aargh!
The agent interview may or may not lead to an interesting work prospect. Either way it certainly went on for a long time, plus interval. Note to self: Microsoft Word is not a dependable standard. If anyone else took that for granted with me I'd be righteously pissed-off, so I stand before you now shamefaced and penitent for having posted a Word 2002 version of my CV that goes completely kerflooey in earlier versions. The current revision should, I think, fix it for Words back to 6.0/95, but it is irritating to be using the wretched thing at all. PDF and HTML/CSS are so much more satisfactory, but after today's shenanigans both those versions are lagging slightly behind. I'll sync 'em all up tomorrow.
As for the SMARTlab meeting, well it revealed new things about two of the people involved, and there's certainly some potentially interesting stuff going on there, but right now I can't see how there's any future there for me. Much as I'd like to dedicate the next few years to a PhD in (say) motion-generated virtual spaces for coopetition (surely the most despair-inducing neologism ever), I can't imagine any way of funding it -- and even if I could, I'm not sure Ian would let me. He has somehow persuaded himself that I'm a scientist and should be extending the boundaries of human knowledge. As if anyone would ever allow that...
