1. Sentiment *does* have a place (albeit manifested only when you are intoxicated)
2. Posting when intoxicated should be encouraged

I think that part of the purpose of a blog is to provide a glimpse of who you are, including those little sentimental, intoxicated bits that you hope go unnoticed...

I guess that's true. There's certainly something, if not necessarily honest, at least *direct* about the whole process.

You'll note that while I wrote a follow-up post criticizing what I'd said, I didn't actually go back and remove or edit the original -- and I don't suppose anyone else would, either. What's the point of a live journal if you censor it later? Hopefully I'll have the sense to leave things be even if I wind up spouting complete bollocks :)
