Old
For all that it was a fairly fucked-up year for the world, 2003 has been a good one for me.Work pretty much sucked, but that's only expected. But life was mostly good, and even when it wasn't there were usually compensations. My back somersault's improving; my planche has gone to hell. I'm writing again, and dancing sometimes, and I've even had call to do a bit of video editing -- who ever imagined that would happen again?
I've seen and heard lots of amazing things, movies and shows and music and all the rest, that excited and enriched and changed me. I may post some Best Ofs at some stage, but that's just details, details. There are always disappointments, but also so many things that come along and remind you of just what humans are capable of, and why we should love our lives.
This was the year, obviously, in which I discovered blogging. In which, as a consequence, I got back in touch with some old friends, and with some parts of myself that had been neglected; and found some lovely new friends and a whole lot of fascinating people willing to lay bare all manner of details of their lives.
My blog subscriptions (mostly via RSS; if your blog doesn't have a feed, why the hell not?) have grown from just one back in June -- Dan's -- to dozens, each of them a little wonder on which every new post is a precious gift. Thank you all for sharing so much of yourselves with me, and for being so patient with my own outpourings and rants and faltering creative urges.
Love to you all. And may 2004 be as good to you as 2003 was to me.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
