Passing Go, Collecting £200

If you happened to be counting you would discover, apart from the glaring fact that you really ought to find something more interesting to do with your time, that today is WalkyTalky's third birthday. A human child, unless suffering some substantial problem, would by now be both walky and talky, so QED. Actions, m'dear, and words. Do you see?

But, let's face it, blog development is even more poorly understood than the mammalian embryonic kind -- the dratted things have only existed for a decade or so, depending on how you draw the boundaries, and their average lifespan is woefully short -- so whether this fucker is now up and running or heading for a melancholy demise is hard to gauge.

Do blogs grow? Evolve? Reproduce? Does any meaningful memetic material pass from one to the next? What kind of evolutionary pressures might be exerted upon them? Does their ontogeny recapitulate their phylogeny?

Who the fuck knows? Or, frankly, cares?

In any case, WT will not be bowing out just yet, not if I have any say in the matter. It enters its fourth year with eyes open and legs akimbo. To anyone who's been here all along, and indeed to everyone who's been here at any time, I bid you thanks and a very good morning.

The worst, as it is almost always fair to say, is yet to come.
