Cut 3

I don't know why I'm bothering to document these, since there's not much difference each time. But you could say that about everything here. One day I'll have to put up a "before" shot so you can at least see how ridiculous I look with a shapeless mass of wayward hair. If nothing else, it gives me an excuse to call this post something other than Filler 19.

Various causes of disgruntlement today, none worth relating. I've put up a draft CV -- any advice gratefully received. Well, depending on what it is. At some stage there'll be a PHP version with selectable stylesheets, just to prove how boring my current existence is. The PDF is generated from the same source, which was quite satisfying in a pointless, geeky way.

I got another cold call yesterday, from another games recruitment company. If only I actually wanted to do that. Or anything. I responded politely and as intelligently as I could manage, but couldn't conceal the fact that I have no idea what I want to do and so probably came over as a total buffoon. I did provide a cogent description of why I will never willingly work in interactive TV again, though. Being negative is so much easier.

Meanwhile, I put up another new photo album entry last night. Oh my, I'm on a roll this week.

Very impressive CV, but is there any way you could add a section with a photo of your current haircut? Just a thought.

So would this fall into the category of "gratefully appreciated advice"?

Hey, I'm desperate -- even mockery seems like a bonus.

I finally sucked it up and decided to dig out my pathetic CV. Couldn't remember where I'd left it of course, but a search revealed I'd dumped it in a directory called /fanfic

...

I hope that cheers you slightly - remember, there's always someone worse off! (Kill me now please)

It does actually -- not that you are worse off, but that you filed your CV under fanfic :)

Good luck with the job-hunting, anyway. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, I surprised myself with that little bit of idiocy/honesty. Thought it might tickle you. Problem is I now want to rewrite my CV to fit the folder...

"And harken! She was borned in the one thousandth, ninehundreth and seventy-sixth year, her parents not kill'd by Orcs, but very happy and still living. And she strode forthe thinking, 'What musteth I do to pay the rent and afford heroic amounts of ale?' And yea, the devil on her shoulder whispered, 'd00d! go into new media! It's that or become a barmaid!'"

I'm so sending that off to some agencies.
