Someone in a Tree

A few random notes to keep things ticking over.

Been a bit under the weather lately, which is partly why I've been quiet for a few days. Maybe a reaction to the turning of the seasons, maybe some trifling bug, who knows. I was off work today, but that doesn't necessarily prove anything except slackness; more telling was missing trampolining last night. Things have to be off for that to happen!

I swapped briefly from Mozilla to Mozilla Firebird as my default browser, but a few key bugs have led me to swap back after only a day. Firebird did show up a few interesting things, such as why the comments facility on Spriteboy's blog never worked for me, which goes to show that not only should you test your own site with multiple clients -- something I'm suddenly sure I haven't done enough of with WalkyTalky -- but that it also pays to try different browsers for reading other peoples' from time to time -- you never know what you might be missing.

Was alarmed to learn this afternoon that the company I think I own may have been fraudulently taken over by some dodgy private security company from Norwood. Apparently the bureaucrats at Companies House don't bother to verify forms they receive about changes in ownership -- though I suspect if I was to submit a form appointing myself as the new director of, say, HMV, someone might just feel inclined to double check it. Anyway, we're looking into it. This, I suspect, may run for some time.

Went with Ian tonight to Pacific Overtures (which I've seen before, but he didn't know at all) and what a fantastic pick-me-up it was: brought me home buzzing with the enthusiasm to write this (although not, apparently, to make it worth reading) instead of just crawling into bed. Time now, though, to do just that.

It's *always* worth reading, and the best bits are the ones you least expect...
