In the end, things went off reasonably smoothly. The parade was big and busy, the weather dull but dry, and our assigned steward helpful and friendly. The routines worked better than expected and went down very well.

Caught glimpses of Alastair and Max, at the very beginning and the very end respectively, but each had duties preventing him seeing us dance, so they -- like you -- will just have to take my word that it happened at all. There is also photographic evidence, but let's face it: the camera is a notorious liar.
