That is amazing.

Do I [possibly maybe] detect an insider reference? =)

Either way, thank you - what a great capture; flying objects are tough, too, especially in low light.

Hope Oz continues to keep you happily occupied. It must be a nice diversion after so many months without some proper adventuring in faraway places. I hope you got your barbecue on the beach!

I didn't realise I had so much family out here in the New York area (including two fully bilingual half-Japanese cousins and two honest to god transsexuals (all mutually exclusive)); no real time to mingle or relax or write out holiday greetings, but it has been nice learning about these strangers. Too much food, of course, but that's what resolutions are for.

Thanks for your Christmas phone message, btw; much appreciated!

[Alastair] Possibly maybe. And s/months/years/: this holiday is long overdue.

We didn't barbecue on the beach, but we picnicked -- and burned, slightly, despite the overcast, in the inevitable spotlets missed by out-of-practice sunscreening.

I'm glad you both enjoyed this pic, but feel duty bound to point out that in summertime Sydney fruitbats are to be seen by the thousand every single evening. Under such circumstances, this shot is remarkable only for its mediocrity. I shall try to do better before I leave.
